- The Charles Bathurst Inn in Arkengarthdale is an 18th Century inn sited high in the hills, with open fires and fresh, locally sourced menus.
- A 17th-century stone-built inn, with flagged floor and open fire, The Foresters Arms in Carlton uses fresh local produce to create modern dishes in its timbered restaurant.
- The George and Dragon Inn is a traditional pub near Aysgarth falls, with an outside terrace, local ales and food produced from local ingredients.
- A characterful pub with a huge open fire and beamed ceilings, The King’s Arms in Askrigg was built in the mid-18C by a racehorse owner and the tack room is now the bar area. Phone 01969 650817.

- A good place for a hearty, warming pie is The Rose and Crown in Bainbridge. The 650 year old hotel overlooks the picturesque village green and serves a variety of home made food.
- The Black Bull in Moulton is an old country pub, now renowned as a seafood restaurant, with a variety of dining areas, including an original 1932 railway carriage.
- The oldest inn in Reeth, The Black Bull has a popular Sunday carvery.
- The White Swan in Middleham is a spacious brasserie overlooking Middleham square.

- Located at ‘the top of the world’, Tan Hill Inn at Tan Hill has the kind of views you would expect from the highest pub in Britain. It is an isolated site, but popular with walkers. The bar has open beams and stone-flagged floor, and a welcoming fire blazes in the grate every day of the year.
