How, When and Where to Pay your Council Tax


Payments should be made as shown on the front of your bill. If you wish to make fewer payments than stated, please ensure that you are always paying in advance of the instalments due, e.g. half yearly payments will be accepted if 5 instalments are paid in April and the remaining 5 in September.
 
Payment can also be made in full on or before the date of the first instalment shown on the front of your bill.

BY DIRECT DEBIT:
If you have already arranged to pay your account by Direct Debit, no further action is required and details of your payments will be shown on the front of your bill. If you do not pay by Direct Debit you may like to consider the benefits of paying by this method.
If you wish to pay by Direct Debit please print off and complete a Direct Debit instruction, then return it to Richmondshire District Council, Swale House, Frenchgate, Richmond, North Yorkshire DL10 4JE.

BY CHEQUE:
Either in person at the offices above or by post to: Richmondshire District Council, Swale House, Frenchgate, Richmond, North Yorkshire DL10 4JE.
 
If you are paying by cheque and would like a receipt please enclose your bill with your cheque. Cheques should be made payable to Richmondshire district council. Please write your Council Tax account number on the back of the cheque.
 
Post-dated cheques will not be accepted.

BY GIRO CREDIT AT ANY POST OFFICE:
The Council's Girobank Account No: is 6069223 (A fee may be payable to the post office for this service).
 
When paying by giro credit please allow at least 5 working days before the due payment date and ensure that you quote your Council Tax account number – as shown on the front of this bill.

LATE PAYMENTS
Non payment of any instalment by the due date may lead to the whole of the remaining balance becoming due in one amount with additional costs.
